The programs and services at Yu-Ai Kai are designed to provide recreational, educational, and social outlets for independent seniors. Volunteer instructors are crucial and play an active role in the continued success of these ongoing activities, classes & workshops, events and services. Activities and classes are held at both: Yu-Ai Kai (588 N. 4th Street, San Jose - 408-294-2505) - near 4th & Jackson Akiyama Wellness Center (110 Jackson Street, San Jose - 408-753-9283) - 3rd & Jackson.

*In the Mom ent: Larry Ellison’s Japanese Art Collection The exhibition explores the dynamic nature of art selection and display in traditional Japanese settings, where artworks are often temporarily presented in response to a special occasion or to reflect the change of seasons. In the Mom ent also considers Mr. Ellison’s active involvement in displaying art in his Japanese-style home, shedding light on his appreciation for Japan ’s art and culture. Join us for this special tour of a unique collection of 66 exceptional pieces of art spanning 1,100 years at the Asian Art Musuem in San Francisco . Included in this exhibition are significant works by noted artists of the Mom oyama (1573-11615) and Edo (1615-1865) periods along with other important examples of religious art, lacquer, woodwork, and metalwork. Highlights include a 13th century wooden sculpture of Shotoku Taishi; six panel folding screens dating to the 17th century by Kano Sansetsu; and 18th century paintings by acclaimed masters, Maruyama Okyo and Ito Jakuchu.
