Nutrition

The Yu-Ai Kai Senior Nutrition Program provides nutritious ethnic (Asian) meals to seniors age 60 and over.  The program is designed to ensure that seniors receive at least one balanced meal a day to maintain proper nutrition.  This program operates Monday through Friday, and reservations need to be made in advance.  The Nutrition Program is federally-funded and is administered by Santa Clara County.

The Yu-Ai Kai Nutrition Program offers:

  • A hot, nutritious meal
  • Socializing
  • Nutritional Education

A suggested contribution for lunch is $3.00.  Meal tickets are available.  If anyone under the age of 60 years of age wishes to visit the Nutrition Program, they will be asked to pay $8.00 per meal.

Lunch is served at 12 noon.  An exercise program, led by volunteers, is offered daily at approximately 11:30 a.m.

The Yu-Ai Kai van picks up seniors from their homes and escorts them to the Yu-Ai Kai Community Center where the Nutrition Program is held.  This program is designed for those seniors who are unable to drive, have no other means of transportation, or are isolated for one reason or another.

The Yu-Ai Kai Nutrition Program also offers home delivered meals to those seniors who qualify.  Special arrangements can be made for meals to be picked up outside the delivery area.  A suggested contribution for lunch is $3.00.  To find out more about both of these services, please call the Yu-Ai Kai Nutrition Program at (408) 297-4979.
