The Yu-Ai Kai Senior Nutrition Program provides nutritious, Asian-inspired meals to seniors over the age of 60.

The program is designed to ensure that seniors receive at least one balanced meal a day to maintain a proper diet. The program operates Monday through Friday, and reservations need to be made in advance. The Nutrition Program is funded by the County of Santa Clara, Sourcewise, Mitsui USA Foundation, and generous donations, and is monitored by the County of Santa Clara.

The Yu-Ai Kai Nutrition Program offers:

  • A hot, nutritious meal

  • Social interaction

  • Nutritional education

Lunch is served at 11:30 am to Noon, with Café closing at 1:00 pm. The current Nutrition Program lunch menu is below.

A suggested contribution for lunch is $3.00.

Anyone under the age of 60, who wishes to visit the Nutrition Program, will be asked to pay $8.00 per meal. Meal punch cards are available.

For $30.00 purchase a Nutrition Punch Card for ten meals and receive one meal free.The Yu-Ai Kai van picks up seniors in some areas of Santa Clara County from their homes and escorts them to the Yu-Ai Kai Senior Center where the Nutrition Program is held. This program is designed for those seniors who are unable to drive, have no other means of transportation, or are isolated for one reason or another.

Neighborhood Meals on Wheels Program

The Yu-Ai Kai Nutrition Program also offers home delivered meals to those seniors who qualify. A suggested contribution is $3.00 for a delivered lunch.
